Russia Could Control Vast Oil Resources
-Russia could cOntrol at least a qii'arter of the , World's oil suppiies when her resources were fu'ly exp dite'd, but at present ■ she- had. only 500 " producing rigs against 2000 in the United States, said the personnel manager of . the' Vacuum ^ Oil Co., Ltd., Mr. A. H. Thomas, speakirig to Levin Rotarians this week. Vast reserves of oil, all untouched, were to be" found in* the frozen wastes of Russia, he said. Moreover, she -was srtting ■ behind the Iron Curtain with Rumania, Hungary, Poland ancl Estohia, all rich oil bearing couritries with a production of 9,000,000 tons annua'ly. "In addition, said Mr. Thomas, RUssia had 38,000^000 tons from the Baku wells, giving her -potential domination of at leasfc a quarter of the world's supply.
