Where N.Z.'s Oil Comes From.
Most of the oil imported into New Zealand today came from Palembang, in Sumatra, said Mr. A. H. Thomas, of the Vacuum Oil Company, Ltd., when speaking to the Levin Rotary Club this week. His company had destroyed its £8,000,000 refinery there during the war when it was in the path of the Japanese advance. This had now been rebuilt and was supplying the Dominion . with petrol of a better quality than that obtained during the' war. from any other scource.
