Varied Programme At Otaki W.I.'s Meeting

The June meeting of the Otaki vVomen's Institu e v/rs he'd reently in the Anglican Hall, when here wrs a good attendance. The •president, Mrs. J* Ross, welcomed ,hose present, including two new nembers, Mesdames Rosoman and 5fates. The motto for the month, "Keep your mind on your work, not your vork on your mind," was given by Mrs. E. Cook. The golden thread 'eadings, "RewL-Adey" and "Lord Rutherford," given by Mrs. W. Tay or, were enjoyed by all, after .vhich Mrs. H. Wmdley demon- • tated the re-covering of an umbrelln.- The practical and interesting way in which the work was .explained was appreciated by members. During the afternoon Mrs. T. H. McConviller entertained with a, humorous sketch. Competition winners were: — [Flower: Mrs. G. M. Kirk 1, Mrs. J. Mudge 2. Shrub: Mrs. J. Mudge 1, Mrs. H. T. Mould 2. Bed socka;, Mrs. R. Mather 1, Mrs. S. Brooks 2. Ginger nuts: Mrs. S. Brooks 1, Mrs. A. Empson 2. Competitions for next month will. be for the best flower and shrub, marmaladae and an article costing inot more than 2s. Members were asked'to note that a bring-and-buy stall will be held at this meeting, when the hostesses will be mesdames J. M. Urquhart, K. Spiers, V. M. Sundgre.b, K. E. Stansfie1d and R. Mather, and Miss A. Smith.
