First Lambs Reported.
The -first lambs to be reportea this season in the Horowhenua district are twins born on June 3 on the estate of the late Mr/W. H/ Fie'd, at Waikanae. The mother is a pedigree Southdown ewe. National Savings. : Last we.ek proved a most successfql one for- the National Savings m.ovement, when f 315 quota towns reached their week'y tar,gets, while for the fourth consecutive year Blenheim has achieved. the distinctibn of being the first district to record an annu.al quota 'suecess. Of the individual quota 'towns, 51 have already reached their Qbjective for the year ending March 3-1, • 1950. The continued popplarity of the gro'up sqheme is indicated hy the fact that 50 new groups have been formed since April 1 last, while since the 5ame d.atq 25Q0 new group accpunts have been opened. The total number of new acounts opened during the period. -is- over- 13,000*
