MR. FRASER'S DENIAL.
.MELLINGTON, June 12. A denial that an undertaking had been entered irito between Mr. Chifley and himself to hold the General Eleetion this year on the same day, was given tonight by the Prime Minister , Mr. Frasei', when the cable message from Sydney was referred to him. He^sard' tlfere was no understanding of any descriptioh, whatev'er on the lines indicated to the eable. It was just absurd- to s&y. that the\ ^ * results of any.- eiection "in, the Dominions would affect the -restilt of an eiection in the United Kingdom. _ "Personally I consider it most unlikely and a farfetchod con- \ jeeture, that( the results of an eiection in Australia will have any . effect ori the result of an eiection in New Zealand or viee vevsa, said Mr. Fraser. "The date of the eiection in New Zealand will be fixed according to the extent of the business of Parliament and the convenience of the electors arid candidates. ' ' ,
