rceceivea ivionaay, iu.iu a.m. LONDON, June 12. The Associated Press' Trieste correspondent says that voting is proceeding today to choose members of the Communal Council. The council will be elected on the basis of international rather than poli- i tical issues. Nominally the city is electing a City Gouncil of 60 members. but actualy Trieste is having a plebiscite ' on whether the city should. remain part of the free territory, should return to Ita'y or should joih Marshal Tito's' Yugoi slavia. j A victory for the Christian Democratic Party for instance would be considered a victory for the he "return to Italy" sentiments. ! The "new council and the officialS1 1 t e'.ects will rute Trieste under the supervision of the Allie'd Military Government. The counting of votes Will begin tomorrow.
