Boy Cyclist's Accident Proves Fatal

TAIHAPE, June 13. Apparently having fallen from the bicycle he was riding on the Hihitahi railway platform about 6.50 p.m. on Saturday and making contact with some part of the Tai-hape-Ohakune mixed train, a young Maori boy suffered injuries from which he died la-ter in the Taihape Hospital. .He was : Jack Manawaiti, aged 15, whose parents j reside.at Turangarere. : I Nq one saw the accident and some time 'aft-er the train had pulled out of Hihitahi a brother of Manawaiti reported to the railway staff that the lad was lying injured cn the rails about 150 yards north of the station. After attention by a doctor, the boy was removed to hospital, where an amputation of the lower right leg was performed. However, death occurred early yesterday morning.
