Northland Bakers Increase Price Of Bread
WHANGAREI, June 13. A meeting of master bakers from Waipu in the south to the far north decided on Saturday evening to increase th6 price of a two-pound loaf from sixpence to sevenpence as from July 1. It was also decided that if the Government or Price Tribunal takes action to force the bakers to adhere to sixpence, all the bakeries in this area will close.
