Comedy Presented By Little Theatre Society
Terence Rattigan's comedy, "Love in Idleness," was chosen by the Levin Little Theatre Society for its June reading, the first since Its name was changed from the Levin Playrea'ders. There was a large audience and it was most appreciative of the players' efforts-. The producer, Mrs. John Black/ who undertook the presentation at very short notice, is to be congratulated on the very high standard of the reading and also on the clever and original manher in which she contrived her settiiigs. Mr. J. Kissel, as "Sir John Fletcher," gave a most convincing perfor'mance and p'ortrayed the varying moods of that muctl-enduriijg Cabinet Minister in excellent style. Mrs. K. Black'-s interpretation of "Mrs. Brown," the unofficial wife of "Sir John," was exceedingly good. Mr.Uohn Norton, as her son, "Michael," lived well into his- part, as did Miss Sheila Jackson as "Sir John's" efficient but somewhat harassed secretary. The minor parts were efficiently handled by Miss J. Todd, Mrs. A. Savell and Mrs. M. L'ong, the latter being quite a rnew reader.
