WELLINGTON, June 10. Concerned over the handicap to the Dominion 's development through the discouraging policy of inadequately paying for the services of highly train-, ed scientists and other experts, the council of the New Zealand Manufacturers Federation decided to raise again the question with the Government. A report supplied by the federation states that the Canterbury Manufacturers Associatiion submitted a request that the federation should press for a thorough inves.tigation into the inequalities of salaries paid to scientiflc workers in New Zealand in relation to many other groups. ' It was explained by the federation 8ecretary, Mr D. I. MacDonald, that when the matter was last discussed with the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr Nordmeyer, it was ascertained that he and the Minister of Educatioin, Mr MeCombs, were quite sympathetic. ,
