Weekly Report On Power Situation

WELLINGTON, June 7. Electrie power consumption in the North Island last week was 2.48 per eent below allocation. Announcing this, the Electricity Controller, Mr. A. E. Davenport, said the general position was satisfactorv. Consumption last week was 33,177,519 units compared with the allocation of 34,018,955 units. Mr. Davenport said the level of both Taupo and Waikaremoana had risen and the Mangahao dams which were ,empty the previous week, were full. South Island consumption was agam | high but apart from peak load control, ' no special restrictions were required.
