A keenly fought game resuRed at the Otaki, race course, when Hui Mai juniors defeated Rahui by s:x ,, points to three, an urrconverted try and a pena'ty to an unconverted try. This was anybody's game, with Rahui just unable to top off many promising moves. Their effort was most commendable and, with the improvement they have shown lately likely to be maintained, they look forward with optimism to the second' round of the competition. Putu kicked the penalty for Hui Mai, and the try came when several dived for the ball at the same time for a Hui Mai forward to reach it first. T. Matt-hews, from whom more will be heard, scored Rahui's Lry.
