This will : be given by Mr. N. H. Tay or, of Ihe Soil Survey Dlvision of the Department of Scientiflc and Industrial Research. The signifieance of recent changes in milking practice will be detailed by Mr. H. Lawry, Herd Recording Department of the New Zealand Dairy Board, and Mr. A. H. Ward will speak on the breeding of better dairy stock. The management of bulls in relation to ■. their sexual strength will be thel subject of a talk by Mr. J. P. James, j of ihe Animal Research Station,| Ruakura, and further obseryations cfn the use of nenicillin for the control of mastitis, wili be given by Dr. J. F. Filmer, Director of the Animal Research Division of the Department of Agriculture. Thursday will be a big day and witi include an evening session^ It will commence at 9.3Q a.m. with addresses on methods of weather forecasting, pampas^ ancj autumnsaved grass, soil fer'ility in relation to farm management practices, and control of weed by hormones. Sandwiched in with these ta.'ks wili be a visit of an hour and a half to the Grasslands Division in the early afternoon, and at the evening session Mr. D. S. M. Phi lips, of the Animal Research Station, Rua-' kura, will speak =-on "Recent Research in Milking Machines," supplemented by films. Friday morning will be occupied with the following addresses:— "Long.-term effect of different fertilisers ahd lime," "Ka'e and cabbages for autumn feed," "Pigraising in the Waikato," fand "Modern methods of treatment^of some diseases of farm animals." A business meeting and open foruim for which written questions are invited. will ocCupy portion of the aflernoon.
