Mr. and Mrs. E. Compton, of Wairoa, are spending the weekend in Levin. Mr. Eric R. Graham, registrar of the Supreme Court at Nelson has' been appointed secretary to the Licensing Control Commission. Mrs. M. Laing, of Ihakara, is a relieving teacher at the Levin School, as also is Miss E. M. Bland, of Levin, who was on the stdff of the school before retirement. Mr. C. C. Banfield, of the money order branch of the Levin Post Office, has retired to go into busihess on his own account after 15 years With the department. He was aCCorded a presentation by the stafi yesterday..
