Enthusiastic Meeting Of Bowling Club
The Otaki R,ailway Bowling Club last week held wha't is stqted to be the most enthusiastic annual meeting since its inception. The attendance was a record, and several new names were submitted for membership for the next season. The president, Mr. A. Watt, who presided, presented his annual report, and the treasurer's report was aslo read, both being adopted. They revealed the progress made by the club and referred to the wide variety of trophies held as a result of 'the successes of members throughout the season. A le'tter of appreciation is to be forwarded to the club's auditor, Mr. J. D. Avery, for his services, while it was agreed to plaee on record the club's thanks to all who ■had helped with the improvements to the pavilion. Further improvements were discussed and working bees arranged. The offer of a further trophy was accepted with thanks. This is to be awarded to the winner of the first year championship singles. A letter of appreciation is to be forwarded to the donor. Officers for the ensuing^year were e'ected as follows: — Patron: Mr. C. F. Atmore; president: Mr. A. Watt; vice-president: Mr. T. V. CahilL; secretary: Mr. W. S. Hughes; treasurer: Mr. A. D. Webster; auditor: Mr. J. D. Avery; delegate: Mr. C. Haigh; committee: Messrs C. Garrett, J. S. Connor, R. Henderson, O. H. Symonds, F. Rule, B. Jarman and E. Wilton; green superintendent: Mr. Hughes; coaches : Messrs Webster, Cahill and Hughes; selectors: Messrs Cahill, Symonds and Hughes; matchman: Mr. Hughes; gala day committee: I\fe'ssrs A. Bennett, Webster and Henderson, W. Rich, E. Dickson, Cahill and Connor; greenkeeper: Mr. K. Hakaraia. Mr. Cahill was declared the winner of a further c.ompetition.
