WELLINGTON, June 1. The f-act that the four days of tln trade' unions' conference fast montl.' was mOnopolised by the carpenters' dipute and the then unhappy relation.-> between the Federation of Labour an:l New Zealand Waterside Workers' Uuion olticialSj meant del.ayed action on remits from unions dealing with conditions of employment, procedure for awards, basic minknum vvage rates, social seeurity benelits and taxation anomalies. This was stated to-day by tht secretary of the Federation of Labour. Mr K. McL. Baxter, who said he hati persistent requests as to what was to happen to hundred of remits not deal-: with by the conference. Mr Baxter suul the remits which were referred to thc national exeeutive would be taken up a.-, soon as possible with the Government which would no doubt favourabu consider all practical problems and thus avoid a financial loss and. heartburningi to wag.e and salaried workers and beneficiaries. ' '
