Anglican Ladies' Guild Meets
The usual monthly meeting of the Anglican Ladies' Guild was held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon, when the president, Mrs. W. Tricker, presided over a good attendance. The vicar, Rev. M. J. S. Wheeler, opened the meeting with prayer, after which a general discussion took place ommatters per--Vtining to the guil'd and the church. Arrangements were completed for the shop day to be held in Mrs. E. L. Hyde's shop, Ballance Street; on Fridav, June 10. Proceeds are. in aid of a fund for the building of a fence in front of the .recently reerected church in Stout Street. Consi'deration was given to the purchasing of a carpet for thp church. It was ultimately agreed that Mesdames Hyde and Parr visifc Palmerston North and obtain a quote for both a carpet and curtains. 4 „ . , , The sick visitor for June is to be Mrs. Parr, while Mrs. Robertson is to carry out the church duties for the month. _ Following the dispensmg of afternoon tea by Mesdames Chester and Hyde, the usual competitions were held. An apology was reeeived from Mrs. Charter, one of the hostesses for the meeting, who had been called away to Wellington on account of illness. * * - " — ' — ■ "
