Reeeived Wednesday, 7.45 p.m. . LCNDONj June 1.' Lightning is believed. to have caused a fire which last night destroyed more than 500,000 incendiary ' bombs at an R.A.F. bomb dump on the moors near Buxton, Derbyshire. The > glow could be seen in Manchester, 20 miles afray, and the heat was so fieree that sightseers were not allowed nearer than a quarter of a mile. Teams of airmen built walls of turf between.the burning incendiaries and high explosive' bombs stored nearby. Fire units attended from a wide area and ambulances stood by but there were no casualties.
