The first game in the Horowhenua Badminton Association's A grade competition was played on Monday night, when Ohau met Shannon and took the honours "by ' nine games to seven, with the match points 247 to 230. Murray lost to Miss D. Rilchie 12 — 15, Miss J. Hudson lost to Miss B. Gardiner 13 — 15. Men's doubles: Fanning and Honore lost to Pope and Pedersen 12 — 21, PLgrim and Candy beat Hyde and McEwan 21 — 19. Women's doubles: Miss Karauti and Mrs. Candy beat Misses Piggott and.
