Personal. Messrs John Eaton and Ron. Burgess, of Otaki Railway have left to fill positions in Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Bob. Stevenson, who have been holidaying in Otaki, have returned ton Taita.
Mr. and Mrs.vBruce Knox, former residents, were weekend visitors to Otaki. Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Johns, after a stay in the Wairarapa, have returned to reside in Otaki. Post Office Holiday. The Ota,ki Post Oflice will be closed in all branches, except the telephone exchange, on. Monday next. The usual hours of attendance will be observed on Saturday, final mails closing at 9.30 a.m. for the north and 11 a!m. for the south. Outstanding Boxer. At the all amateur tournament staged by the Wellington Boxing Association in the Town Hall (Wellington) on Monday night, D. ("Bob") Hdkaraia won his third successive fight. A report states that "he was like a whirling dervish when wound up, and the crowd was corry when his opponent had to retire in the second round with a cut eye. Strawberries Ripen Late. A report that strawnerries are still ripening in a nearby town prompted a local grower to furnish proof that he has several plants still fcearing heavily. Birds are most active, however, and as soon as the delectable fruit starts to ripen the birds never fail to arrive. Further evidence of the mildness of the climate for the time of the year was forthcoming from another garden, which has peas in flower and pods still forming.
