The total inerease in the French population in three completely recorded mars since the end of the war, has been 092,000 compared with only 714,000 during the ten years 1921 to 1930 and an aetual exeess of 125,000 deaths over births between 1931 and 1940. It was only because of immigration that the population of France was maintained and showed a sliglit inerease between the two world wars.
