Received Wednesday,- 10.20 a.m. LONDON, May 31. In three hours a.nd five minutes New Ze"alatid sco'rfed 247 runs to beat Sussex by five 'wickets7 Sutcliffe made 56, Reid 82 and Donnelly 88 (not out) with the brightest of batting.

The only disappointment of the game, which the New Zealanders won with 20 minutes to spare, was that Wallace missed his 1000 runs before the end of May by 90. He yas well caught at fin-e leg when 13. Sussex added 101 to their overnight score to reach 130 which, vith their lead on the first innings of 116, gave them a presentable total. The New Zealanders made up for their failure of the previous day to wih their fourth match of the tour after a game that began slugfishly and ended in a race against time. It was Griffiths, who played for Sngland against South Africa in he recent tests, and, James, who, ogether with Jack Oakes, were nainly responsible for the extra 101 runs for Sussex.
