Murder Charge: Too Insane To Plead

Reeeived Monday, 7.20. p.m. - SYDNEY, May 30. A Central Criminal Court jury deeitled today that Robert Matthew Thomas, aged 19, a fettler, was insane and not lit to plead to a charge of murder. He was directed to be kept in striet eustody until dealt with under the Lunaey Act. Thomas was carried into court on a stretcher and lay apparently in a tranee, showing no interest in wnat was going on. He was charged with having murdered a young man near Gosford 011 JSJovember 25. A few hours after the man was found fatally wounded, Thomas was discovered lying with a brokeu back under a railwav . viaduet from which he had apparently fallen.
