MANAKAU INSTITUTE MEETS

The May meeting of the Manakau Women's Institute was held recently, Mrs. W. J. Willis presiding over a small gathering of members. Miss U. M. Cotter read a very comprehensive account of the federation council meeting. It was decided that the birthday hook be renewed and each month the member whose birthday is celebrated will sit at the head of the table at afternoon tea, and will be the recipient of a spray of flowers. A most interesting letter from ai member of the link in England was read, after which the remainder of the afternoon took the form of a social. This proved very enjoyable, members being reluctant to disperse. .
