WELLINGTON, May 27. Rehahilitation loans worth £62,224,648 had been authorised for 77,537 ex?ervicemen and women by the end of April, states the Rehabilitation Board. .Tn April itself 1139 loans were authorised, valued at £839,007. Loans to purchase farms were increased to 5714, which involved £23.900,713. This includes 785 ex-servicemen settled on Crown landfl. There were 65 farm loans authorised during the month. The end of April saw honsing loans brought to 25,597, worth £30,223,752. There were 338 for April, valued at £410,018. There had been 10,831 building loans authorised, worth £15,516,728* and 14,766 purchase loans worth £14,706,424. The 155 building loans for April were valued at £226,785 and the 183 purchase loans for the same period entailed £183,233. Tncluded in the total hgures ' to date are 14,292 supplementary loans involving £2,161,003, including 10, 408 who had been allocated State rental houses and 5/44 who had been placed on farms of their own. The number of ex-servicemen and women who had been given direct housing assistanee through rehabilitation was at the end of April 41,749.
