Silver Wedding Party At Manakau

At a party and dance to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. George Mudgway recently entertained about 250 guests in the Public Hall, Manakau. In receiving tlieir guests, Mr. and Mrs. Mudgway were assisted by their two daughters, Mrs. Bowater and Miss Natalie Mudgway. Mrs. Mudgway was presented with a shoulderspray by Mrs. J. Staples, on behaif of the Women's Division, Federated Farmers, of which Mrs. Mudgway is a member. Many of the guests 'had come from Wellington, Lower Hutt, Otaki, Levin, Palmerston North and Marton. Numerous telegrams and letters of good wishes were received. Tribute to the pood citizenship of Mr. and Mrs. Mudgway was paid by Mr. H. Mungavin. On behaif of the people of Manakau, Mr. A. M. Atkins presented them with a dinner set. Mr. Pemberton made a presentation of a silver tea service from the employees of the Odlin Timber Company, many of whom are friends of the family. An orchestra played for dancing. Between dances items were given by the Murray family, Mr. L. Barkla and Miss N. Mudgway, Manakau, Miss Valerie Brand, Levin, and Miss Dorothy Seymour, Wellington. A wedding cake, cut at supper, had been made by.Mrs. F. Prentice, Miramar, and iced by Miss N. Staples, Manakau.
