The police learned today that the lead man had left a will and that he jossibly served in the New Zealand Tedical Corps in the First World War. Pupils ancl acquainl ances, both men nd women, are coming forward fairly 'reely with information. Apart frtim ; hese interviews and inquiries all over he city, deteetives are continuing to search for the murder weapon. A speeial ixamination of the pencilled pote vhieh Edney left is being carried out by technical experts. In addition lo the words "For yon Bil," there was a scrawl, apparently done as the dead man was losing his strength, whieh mav yet.be deciphered and reveal something of importance. , If the theory that the assailant called his victim to the Queen Street entrance of the building and made off after delivering the death blow, is correct, .ihe police are faced with a difficult 'case. It would mean that not a single fingerprint or other incriminating evi'dence was left behind in the premises, provided that nothing further can be made of the writing on the note.
