Hospital's Domestic Staff Resigns En Bloc

WHANGAREI, May 23. 3 The domestic stafi of the Hokianga Hospital has resigned en bloc. The hospital is without domestics, whose work is being done by the nursing scaff. A decision has been reached to admit only emergency patients to the hospital in the.meantime. Certain patients capable of being nursed at home have been sent home. It is believed that this situation has arisen as a result of discussion last week by the Hokianga .Hospital Board of the problems arising out of the finding of men in the domestics' home. The domestics, of whom there were mote than a dozen on the hospital staff, -did not appear for duty yesterday morning and later sent their resignations as a group to the board. , The board chairman said today that the board intends to proceed forLhwith to obtain improved accommodation for the new domestic staff and thus hopes to be able to prevent a recurrence of this trouble.
