Choosing Wardrobe For "Miss New Zealand"
Although the personal details of ^Miss New Zeaiand's" wardrobe f;r her overseas vis.it canhot be atlended to- until the winner is foqnd in Wellington on June -17, good progress is being made with the task of preparing for the gathering pf the wardrobe from the m^ny New Zealand fashion houses which have promised to contribuLe towards it. "The generpsity of many firms has been overwhelniing" the executive director of the quest, Mr. K. W. Kilpatrick, sai'd today. "Though we a,re oxf-y just teginning to assemble the requirements , we have had many splendid offers to help from many parts of New Zealand. There is no doubt that this vear's "Miss New Zealand" wifi win an even better wardrobje than that which went to Miss Mary Wootton iin the 1947 auest."
So that the wardrobe for this year's winner will be a harmonious and fashionab1e enLlty, and not just an o'ddly-assorted collection of clothes, a fashion expert, Mrs. A.\ C. Sievewrisht, of Wanganui, has, been .appointed bv the board of directors of the quest to supervise the gathering of the wardrobe. As soon as "Miss New Zealand" is ehosen and her individual styles and wishes known, Mrs. Sieve1 wright will mc-ke a tour of the Dominion consulting with leading manufacturers on the production of the winner 's outfit for her overseas travels.
