Mr. Ken Wood, of the Wellington poliee force, and Miss Joan Webster, of Blenheim, have been, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. Wood, Venn Street, for the past few days. Mr. E. Allen and Miss . A. Allen, of "Te Maire" are at present on a holiday visit to Whangarei, where they are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bush and other .friends in that district. The friends . of Mrs. -Paris, Newtown, will regret to hear that she suffered a painful accident yesterday afternoon when she inflicted a severe cut in her leg with an axe. Medical aid was rendered' by Dr. Collier. . Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Jensen, are the guests of Mr. Jensen's sister, Mrs. Marshall, of Stout Street, for a few days prior to leaving for Australia by the Akaroa early next month. After spending a holiday in Australia, Mr. and Mrs. Jensen will eontinue on to England. Mr. an-d Mrs. B. Hateley, of Mangaore, have received word that their daughter, Miss D. Hateley, of the nursing staff of the Wellington Hospital, was successful in being placed third in the recent nursing examination. Over 80 nurses sat the examination.
