Paraparaumu Institute Holds Meeting
The May meeting of the Paraparaumu Women's Institute was heid in khe Anglican Hali, and was , presided over by Mrs. N. F. Horps-| by, in the unavoidable absence of Mrs. S". Eggers. • • Mrs. E. Weston gave a very interesting and , entertaining account of the annual Federation meeting he'd recently at Paremata. Gifts of soap were received to be sent as a gift parcel Lo the sister link, Huntingdon, England. The guest speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. C. Burnard, of Wel ington, who gave a most interesting talk about a voyage down the Adriatic cdast. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speaker who was also the recipient of a shoulder spray. Miss R. Clarkson read a Maori Legend in the Golden Thread series of talks. Competitions were won as follows: — Best vegetables: Mrs. C. - W. G'en-Campbell 1, Mrs. D. Cromb 2: best fiower: Miss R. C arkson 1, Mrs. J. Strand 2. A further comnetition prize was awarded to Miss R. Crornb. Members were reminded to have their handwork ready for the forthcoming " exhibition to take place in Levin next week. A we'l e.ttended and highlv suc-] cessful meeting concluded with the' singing of the National Anthem.
