Women's Institute To Hold Crafts Exhibition

Eighteen women's. institutes from Tawa Flat to Poroutawhao inclusive, will be exhibitors and parficipants in the arts and crafts exhibition conducted by the Southsrn Wellington Federation of New Zealand Women's Institutes which will be a major attraction in Levin next week. The exhibition opens in the Regent Ha 1 on Tuesda.y and will continue until Friday. There will be 20 courts in all each one with lomething of outstanding interest as a fea,ure. The judges will be Mrs. W. Short. of Foxton, and Miss Maddever, of Wellington. Every night will see excel'ent . programmes. On the Tuesday, the Otaki Institqte will present the entertainment, their being a ohoir and many solo ilems featured. On Wednesday a.nd Thursday Mrs. Bessie Anderson and June Akers, two well known radio artists will be featured. During th* afternoons the various institutes will he in charge of afternoon tea arrangements. One of the exhibitions which wiT be of particular interest will be a coliection of papier-mache dolls dressed in the national costumes of the countries in which there is an institute. There will also be a general court where many Jovely articles received from time to time from overseas links will be on Sisplay. The exhibition will be ' officially opened by Mrs. Barnicoat, the immediate past Dominion president and now a vice -president of the executive.
