This was announced by the national secretary of the Labour Party, Mr. A. J. He has also taken an active part in community aft'airs. Ile is secretary of the Rongotea,- Boxing and Wrestling Club, secretary of the Te Iv&wau Primaiy Schools' Sports Association, a nicmber of the exeeutive of the Rongotea Eootball Club, a meiubcr of the Memorial Committee and Ilorticultural Society. He is a meinber of the Rongotea branch of the Labour Party and an exeeutive ' member of the Manawatu Labour Representation Coiiimittee. Ilis greatgraudfather arrived in Wellington early in L340 and grandfatlier, the late '^rr. T. Rodgers, was the first" white child born iu the province." He is married with three children. His wifo is a daughter of the Rev. E. D. Patcliett. Other official Labour candidates whose | candidature has been approved by the ! national exeeutive of the Labour Party were announced today. They are: Hawke's Bay: Hon. E. L. Cullen, . M.P., Minister of Agriculture. Parnell: Mr. F. W. Schramm. Eden: Mr. P. T. Curran. Hamilton: Mr. lohn Granville.
