Fatal Head Injuries In Car Smash

WANGANUI, May 15. A married man with.. five cMldren was killed instantly when the car in which he was a passenger, was involved in a collision with another car at a street intersection on Saturday night. He was; KENNETH GEORGE CONNOR, freezing worker, aged 41, of 83 Bell Street. Mr. Connor was in the back seat of the car in which. were the driver and another man. The only occupanfs of the other car involved were a young man and a young woman. The vehiele in which Connor was killed turned over and cairie to rest on its side against a power pole and he received extensive head injuries. KILLED WHEN CAR HITS TREE MASTERTON/ May 15. MALCOLM STANTON HOWARD, aged 35, proprietor of a grocer's shop. in Perry Street, Masterton, married, with one child, was killed instantly about one mile north of Greytown last night. The van he was driving was completely wreeked. Mr. Howard, who was the sole occupant of the van, had attended the Otaki races and when returning home ran into a tree on the side of the road. The police believe he went to sleep at the wheel. He was formerly a well known representative footballer and brother to the present Wairarapa senior selector, Mr. H. Howard.
