Horse Riding On Footpaths Too Prevalent

it was a common thing to see horses cantered past the Plunket rooms afid along the footpath in Ha'dfield Street, a practice which created a hazard for mothers visiting the rooms and residents leaving by their front gates, said a letter from Mr. E. t. Silverwood, of Hadfield Street, received at a meeting of the Otaki Borough Council on Wednesday night. In bringing the matter before the council, the writer asked that an endeavour be made to stop "this dangerous use of the footpath." The council agreed . that every efiort should be made to abate this nuisance, and to seek the help of the traffic inspector. The footpath in question will probably .be receiving further attention also when the estimates for the year are prepared shortlv.
