Personal. s Mr. S. Laing, of the Bank of New Zealand staff, is at present on furlough and together, wlth Mrs. Laing, is visiting Auckland. During Mr. Laing's absence Mr. M. Moynihan, of the Levin branch, is relieving at Shannon. Nexv Red Cross Snb-centre. Mrs. J. D. Campbell, district organiser for the Junior Red Cross in tlie Manawatu district, with Miss H. E. Bowen, of the Levin Red Cross sub-centre, and Mesdames A. W. Parton, and J. T. Bovis, secre'taries of the Levin and Shannon sub-centres respectively, journeyed to Foxton last Thursday to meet a group of women interefeted in forming a sub-centre of the movement in that town. An explanation of the work of the Red Cross for many years to come, the methods adopted and the results achieved by. Levin and. Shannon was given. It is hoped that a sub-centre will he formed in Foxton after the school vacation.
