The winter activities'' of the Levin Ath etic and Cyciing Clut, wiil begin 011 Saturday wnen the ciub's fn.y road cyciing contesti will be staged with a race to Manakau and baek. Time'd to leave the Grand Hotel at 1.30 p.m., the flnishing point will be at -the Levin School. The club is to be congrauu'ated on its decision.to cater for the cyciists during the winter, as this will fit them for the sirenuous programme of niajor events planned for the summer with the Empire Games as the impetus. The annuai Palmerston North to' Bu-!s and re.urn race, to be he'dj on August 27 will be run in two divisions, the .iunior in the morning and senior in the afternoon. The annuai rneeting of the West Coast Centre was held at Wanganui reeently, when the Palmerston North Club was successful in having three of its 'delegates elected to prcminent positions. They are: Messrs P. Manning and C. Stagpo'e, president and secretary) respecdvely, and B. Gorner, cen-1 tre handicapper. Messrs D. Yeates! and W. Galloway are the Levin! Gibbons Shield and if they desirei to run it, the race wiT be deeided toward the latter end of July. Hints For Riders.
