Motor Registrations Reach Record

WELLINGTON, May 11. A New Zealand record for motorvehicle registrations is 'eoristituted with 385,266 motor vehicles licensed in the nine months of the licensing year ended March 31, announced by the Post-mastef-Gehefal, Mr. Hackett, today? There are 25,809 more vehicles registered than in the same pfiriod last year Of the 385,26'6 vehicles licensed, 225,093 are cars, an inbrease of 8643. Commerfial' vehicles number 140,259, an increase of 16,247, and 19,913 are motor cycles, an increase of 919. Commeneing on Jnme 1, the relicensing for the new registratiQn year effective from July 1, will be handled by -post offlces throughout the country.
