WELLINGTON, May 11, One accident causing injury in 606,000 miles is the excellent accident 4 free record of truck drivers in New Zealand, said the Minister of Trans- ' port, Mr. Hackett, when opening the annuaJ conferenee of the New Zealand Drivers' Federation. Ahout' 80,000.000 people were carried hy road transport every year, said the Minister. If private motorists could attain even the lowest rate among the federation 's memhers — one accident every 208,000 miles — New Zealand's road accident figures would drop considerahly.
