Plan For Future Of Italian Colonies

Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. . NEW YORK, May 10. A United Nations sub-committee today approved by 8 votes to 5, the principles of an agreement between Mr Ernest Bevi-n and Count Sforza, in relation to the future ot Libya. The subcommittee, which had been set up by the General Assembly 's Politieal Committee to compose diffierenees on the future of the former Italian colonies, approved the following principles submitted by Britain so far only as con cerns Libya: — Firstly, the independence for Libya iii ten years. Secondly, the administration of the three ferritbries in the meantime as follows: Cvrenaica under Britain, Tripolitania under the- British until the end of 1D51 when a trusteeship would be given to Italy, Fezzan under a Erench trusteeship. Thirdly, during the interim administration of Tripolitania until 195.1, an advisory counc'il of representatives of the United States, Prance, Italy, Egypt hud of the local population, would assist Britain. Fourthly, that the administering countries take all measures to ensure coordination to ensure the eventuai unity of Libya. The siib-eoinmittee approved by a vote of 9 to 6, a further British proposal to giv'e Italy trusteeship over Italian Somaliland.
