Street Signs In County
A request from the Wcitsra'e ! Beach Progressive and Ra.epayers' i Association for the Horowhenua ! County Council to erect street names and signs at- the beach arew a spcntaneous ges.ure from rhe council when it decided at yesterday's meeting to eiect* street signs at Waikanae, Waitarere and Tokomaru. it was not a very big job, but the council had to realise that not only Waitarere Beach needed consideration, commented the ehairman, Mr. A. M. Coiquhoun, when the letter was read. Were there any signs at all there, he asked the ' engineer, Mr. W. H. Fraser. There were on y three streets and these did not have the sign posts up, said the engineer. There were other p'aces which womd have to be done before very long, said Cr. D. K. Guy, iristancing the Waikanae sett.emcnc. Following a further discussion, it was. decided to attend to the ereclion of street names in the Waikanae, Waitarere and Tokomaru areas.
