Survey Of Position Of N.Z. Women

"WELLINGTON, May 10. A survey of the position of women In the Dominion as they are affeeted by public affairs and social and economic eonditions, is to be undertaken by the Young Women 's Christian Assoeiation of New Zealand, through its branches. "This has been suggested by the Y.W.C.A. representative on the Soeial and Economics Council of United Nations, " said Miss A. Louise Burton, Wellington, national general secretary of the Y.W.C.A. in New Zealand, when outlining the scheme, "A committee has been set up at national headquarters in Wellington to study the plaee of women in the eommunity and it is hoped that local committees • will be formed, " said Miss Burton. "These committees will keep the Soeial and Economic Council of United Nations informed about eonditions as they affeet New Zealand women."
