Personal. Miss Mary Murdoch has returned to her home in the South Island. The many friends of an erstwhile resident of Otaki, Mr. H. Cockrells will regret to hear that he has not been enjoying good health for some time. Mr. Cockrell now resides in Auckland. House Erected Overnight. Considerable surprise has been expressed at the speedy erection of a house adjacent to the" corner of Anzac Avenue. The explanation is that the new abode was conveyed to its present she in sections, hence the prompt completion of the erection of the building. Bowling Green Inspected. Mr. W. Horton, greens supervisor attached to Massey Co lege, has been visiting the Otaki Raiiway bowling green. Much valuable advice has been tendered by Mr. Horton and as a result it is expected that ihe green wi'l next season give even greater satisfaction than formerly. Political Meeting. The first shot in the forthcoming election campaign will be iired locally on Thursday night by the National Party, when a public address will be given in the Ang.ican Hall by Mr. W. J. Broadtoot, M.P. It is reported that the speaker will be the first of several prominent members of the party to visit Otaki.
