Building Costs.
An mterestmg pomt was made at yesterday's meeting of the Land Valuation Cominittee by Mr. A. D. Long when he referfed to building costs as quoted by State Advances. Ex-servicemen had had currenl building figures quoted tb them as being from 35s to 36s pfer -Square foot. Mr. LOng said that i'n nuiiierous instances many had already gone to the expense of having plans drawn un Piily to find that builders were not prepared to dol the job at the price" qUoted by State Advances. On cbhsulting several fcurders in regard to Ihe matter, Mr; Long had been informed that bui'ders h'ad ribt op'erated on that price for a number of years. *
