Mr, Gouldjng, S.Nh, in the Magistrate's Court, Levin, on Friday, when hearing was resumed in a case in which Macfarlane's Transport Company sued for possession of part of their premises occupied by P. A. Petersen. The defendant's counsel, Mr. T. P. Cleary, raised a legal issue and it was on these grounds that Mr. Goulding reserved his decision. Plaintiff was represented by Mr. G. I. McGregor. i Health Camp Committee: That the activities of the Otaki Heahh Camp were curtaiied during wet weather was the reason given at yesterday's meeting of the Manawatu Health Camp Committee for the reducnon of the quota of children taken into the camp during winter months. Farm land in the Waikato, opened up as the result of the hydroeleetric schemes on the river, wili accommodate their firs'j settlers in July. Eight farms, to be bailoted for among ex-servicemen, will provide a town milk supply for Mangakino, which will be the labour pool for the new power stations for the next decade. Access to the Mangakino district opened up thousands. of acres. The eight new farms are part of 3200 acres of Crown land sown in grass by the Lands and Survey Department since the latter paru of 1946. Public Trust's Year. That the steady growth of the Public Trust Office since it was established 77 years ago is being maintained, is demonstrated by the ■figures for new business for the past 12 months, which have been re'eased by the Public Trustee. Estates to the value of £7,894,636 were accepmd during the year for administration. During the year 7,884 new wills appointing the Public Trustee executor were prepared and lodged in safe custody and a. further 6,584 wills were revised to provide for changes desired by testators. The total number of wills now hel'd on behalf of living persons exceeds 144,000.
