AUCKLAND, May 3. The otiicial poster for the 1950 Empire Game& at Auckland ia of simple design. It embodies an outline^of New Zealand on a background of blue and green wash. The poster is the work of Mr. C. Firth, of Auckland. Ijt was adjudged today th.6 best of 160 entries in the eompetition, The panel of five judges .considered the entry would compare favourably with the best specimens of British and Continental poster art. Second and third were Mr. N. Hoare and Miss Nola Holmwood, both of Auckland. The eompetition carried £80 in prize money. The winning poster v^rill be sent all over the world.
