It was suggested that if the wharf were moved to Rush Flat or above the Whirokino cut, it could probablv be b rough t into use again, but this would depend on whether ships were prepared to unload freight at Foxton. It was 1 > ft in the hands of the chairman, Mr. J. A. Nash, to negotiaTe with sliipping companie.s. Those who made contributions to the discussion on this snbject were Messrs II. .1. Dewe, H. Wood h*»'' been eut and put in each cookhouse. In Seabury Avenue the silver poplars had ])een cut back. Roads had been graded but were .cutting up again because of the dry spell. Flax bands had been placed on the road at the Beach. All the pumps'were in working order. There had been severn] eampers in for Easter and a steady flow of reserves for the Christmas period was eoming in. The fence across the Ocean Be;ich had been started and there was about four chains to do. This would then eoinplete the second fence.
