It is stated authoritati\ ely that Mr. Chiflev's vievis that a worthwhtle beef development in Xorthern Australia depends largely upon roadmaking which in turn is dependent upon the provision of equipment. Britain has undertaken to pro vide a considerable quantity but all the ilternative sources are being exainined The Commerce Department will advisc on watering facilities and iniprove inents to existing stock routes. A warning is given that three to fout years must elapse before the output can reach ell'ective proportions.
