Received Mondav, 9 p.m. SHANGHAI, May 2. . The semi*of6cial Central News Service said today that the rail service •from Hangchow to Nanehang^ had been suspended. This was the last railwai escape from Shanghai to South China. A wild civilian exodus from Hangchow is in full swing following the army's evacuation of the city. Refugees with little bundles of possession:u re pouring out of the abandoned city as the Communists continued to approach from the north. Hangchow rail vvay station is packed tight with a mass of struggling humanity numbering over 150,000 impatiently awaiting trains to speed them to safety along the Ilang chow-Nanchang railway but the service has ceased. Latest official war communiques de not mention the military situation around Hangchow but hint, again at n new threat to Shanghai from the north west. Communist forces in Gli&ngshu, 50 miles north-West of Shanghai, com tinue to be strengtliened.
