" AUCKLAND, May 1. Plans of the Auckland • City Mission for the erection of a home, for aged people in Auckland, were ahnouhced by the city missioner, the kev. C. D. (3. Caswell. He described the intolerabie eonditions under which some elderly people in Auckland are living. It was expected that £10,000 woul^ be re.qui.red for the home, lie. said. The- mission planned to er.eet a buildi-ng that. would provide a comfortable homq-, for ..68 old people. They would. include 20 elderly women, 20 elderly, inen and 14 elderly couples. The people accommodated would be chosen from. those who were not able to look after themseives but were not sufficiently infirm or siek to be hospital cases.
